About Cape Cod Saltworks: The rich history of sea salt production along the shores of Cape Cod dates back to the Revolutionary War when British blockades halted salt imports. Since 1830, Cape Cod Saltworks has been harvesting sea salt from Nantucket Sound using natural solar evaporation. The traditional method of drying saltwater in greenhouses, still used today in Chatham, creates premium sea salt with unmatched flavor and texture. Sea water is collected daily to keep up with demand, capturing the pure essence of Cape Cod’s coast.
